Mmm, Pie!

It’s been crazy, busy, hectic around here lately. This past week marked the end of summer quarter at school. Finals done, it is now time to relax for a few weeks before beginning fall quarter.
However, busy we’ve been, we manage to fit time in for family – and pie! I had been craving a pie for a while, and having a family get together last weekend served the perfect opportunity for me to try making some pies I’ve never made before!

New Family Members!

So, we finally decided to get Dustin some new pets. We’ve gotten him two Betta fish in the last {six} months, but neither of them have survived. This time? Goldfish! :)

These are not your average goldfish, though. While at the pet store, we came across four fish in one tank. They were HUGE compared to all the other tiny goldfish. Three times bigger! We snagged two of them and brought them home.

The one with the transparent white tail, we call him/her Digger – because this fish will go nose first into the pebbles at the bottom and dig its way through them!

We are currently trying to find a name for the other one. :(

Sunny Days

Last week was so beautiful! Just about every day was sunny. It was wonderful because it finally gave me the perfect opportunity to go outside and do some gardening.

So with a plastic shovel, soil, pots, and flowers in hand, Dustin and I headed outside into the sunshine to plant our very first flowers. In all my 25 years {so far}, I have only ever once planted anything – and it was for an elementary science experiment!

Needless to say, I have been itching to plant some flowers this year. Not to mention, I wanted to spruce up the outside of our little place :)
